Acceptance of Terms

By downloading or using What Can I Cook? (“the app”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Description of Service

What Can I Cook? is an AI-powered recipe suggestion app. You photograph your ingredients, the app detects them using OpenAI Vision, and generates personalised recipe suggestions via GPT-4.1-mini. The app is operated by Christopher Rutledge.

Account Registration

You must create an account using a valid email address. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You must be at least 13 years old to use the app.

Subscription and Payments

The app offers a free tier (5 scans per month) and a Premium subscription (unlimited scans) billed monthly through Apple’s In-App Purchase system.

AI-Generated Content

Recipes and ingredient detections are generated by AI and may not always be accurate. Always verify ingredients and cooking instructions before preparing food, particularly if you have dietary restrictions or allergies. We are not liable for any adverse outcomes resulting from following AI-generated recipes.

Intellectual Property

The app and its original content (excluding user-uploaded photos) are owned by Christopher Rutledge. You retain ownership of any photos you upload. By uploading photos you grant us a limited licence to process them for ingredient detection purposes.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Delete Account within the app.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The app is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Christopher Rutledge shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the United Kingdom.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
