Privacy Policy

App: MusicVault AI  ·  Last updated: 5 July 2026

This privacy policy explains how MusicVault AI ("the App", "we", "us") handles your information. The App is developed and operated by Christopher Rutledge.

1. Information We Collect

The App does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information. MusicVault AI has no network access at all — it cannot connect to the internet, and there is no server, account, or cloud sync of any kind.

2. Your Music Files

When you add a folder or drive to your library, the App reads track titles, artists, albums, artwork, and other metadata directly from your audio files, purely to display and organize your collection. The App only ever opens files for reading — it never modifies, moves, renames, or deletes any audio file, and it never writes tags or artwork back into a file. Access to a chosen folder is granted via macOS's standard sandboxed folder picker and is never used for anything beyond reading your music.

3. Custom Artwork

If you assign your own cover art to an album, the App copies that image into its private app storage. Your original image file is untouched and may be deleted afterwards without affecting the App.

4. Local Storage Only

All data created by the App — your library index, playlists, smart playlist rules, and settings — is stored exclusively in a local database on your Mac, inside the App's private sandboxed container. There is no cloud sync, no account system, and no remote server involved. You can export or import a backup of this database yourself, entirely on your own device.

5. AI / Recommendation Tools

Any recommendation or analysis features in the App run entirely on your device using the metadata already in your library. No listening data, file contents, or metadata is ever sent to an external service — the App has no networking capability to do so.

6. Third-Party Services

The App does not use any analytics services, advertising networks, or third-party SDKs that collect personal data.

7. Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
